Raspberry PI Creative Technologists
The Raspberry Pi Foundation’s new Creative Technologists programme is focused on supporting and inspiring young people who are interested in creative uses of technology.
If you are aged between 16 and 21 years old and have a creative pursuit you feel would be enhanced with digital technology, then this mentoring programme is for you.
The 12-month programme consists of:
- monthly individual and group mentoring sessions, led by Raspberry Pi Foundation staff
- additional mentoring from industry partners
- software and hardware project support
- exhibition opportunities
- field trips; behind-the-scenes industry visits; exhibitions; events and conferences.
Each participant will also receive a Raspberry Pi starter kit and a £300 materials grant. The group will receive a £1000 grant for exhibition costs.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation will cover travel within the UK, accommodation, entry fees and sustenance on organised field trips and visits to Cambridge hacklabs.
Participants will also have the opportunity to complete Trinity College London’s Arts Award Gold accreditation. A Level 3 Award, the Gold accreditation has a QCF credit value of 15, and you will be awarded 35 UCAS points.

V&A Digital Programmes
The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design founded in 1852. The Digital Programmes department promotes innovative digital art and design practices, and collaborative processes; creativity and stimulating discussion.
They can offer mentoring, industry links, event invites and behind-the-scenes site visits.
Writers’ Centre Norwich
Developing towards the National Centre for Writing, WCN is interested in the artistic and social impact of creative writing and works with writers, readers, literary translators and diverse communities on a wide range of ongoing and one off projects and events.
They can offer artistic support and mentoring, practical assistance, grant and funding advice, access to excellent partners and an environment that supports people who want to make things happen.
FutureEverything
FutureEverything is an award-winning innovation lab for digital culture and annual festival, established in Manchester in 1995. For 20 years FutureEverything has been exploring the meeting point of technology, society and culture which lies at the heart of the digital debate.
They can offer mentorship, connections and opportunities to attend some of the events they produce, including FutureEverything 2016.
Pimoroni
Pimoroni is a Maker-run company. They create things with laser cutters and electronics. All produced in their Sheffield workshop.
They can offer advice on developing hardware with a creative heart, design, how to build an audience online then make projects a reality with crowdfunding. You can also use the laser cutter if you ask nicely.
Saladhouse
Saladhouse is an animation studio based in Manchester. It applies a love for character design, animation and storytelling to all of its work. Their animations have a humorous edge, and aim to educate as well as entertain.
They can offer mentoring, technical assistance and industry advice.
Hellicar & Lewis
Hellicar & Lewis use craft, design and technology to work with brands, companies and institutions to invent new ways of communicating in real time.
They can offer mentoring support, practical assistance, industry links and advice on the execution of technical projects within commercial environments.
